Two Music Educators Tapped for AI Exploration

Two Music Educators Tapped for AI Exploration

The Kentucky Educational Development Corp. (KEDC) has chosen Fayette middle school choir directors Emily Levey and Lynn Przygoda to participate in the Think aiEDU grant program. This initiative, powered by KEDC in collaboration with the AI Education Project (aiEDU), is designed to equip educators and students with the tools, training, and resources needed to thrive in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence (AI).

Levey and Przygoda will join a cohort of 40 Kentucky educators working together to explore responsible AI use in classrooms.

“At Leestown, our choir is about more than just music. It’s about connection, culture, and creativity. Every day I see how the arts give students a voice, a safe place to belong, and the confidence to share their stories,” Przygoda said. “With the Think aiEDU grant, I can’t wait to explore how AI can amplify those experiences for my students and open new doors in their learning. Whether it’s helping them dive deeper into the history behind the music we sing, giving them tools to create and compose in new ways, or supporting our English Language learners as they find their place in the choir, I believe AI can strengthen the heart of what we do.”

Through hands-on training, peer-to-peer collaboration, and classroom integration strategies, our teachers will learn how to incorporate AI into instruction while maintaining a focus on creativity, equity, and workforce readiness.

“This program is a powerful way to enhance my skills and share the potential of AI with my students at Edythe J. Hayes,” said Levey, who has served in Fayette County Public Schools since 2006. “I have been exploring AI personally and professionally, and this opportunity will not only build my confidence but also empower me to bring these transformative tools directly into my classroom.”
